Most of the work of this Commission will be done using email and internet. In spring 2001, a workshop was held in Freiburg, Germany.

A summary of the results of the Freiburg workshop is given below.

WMO and WHO should be involved from the very beginning in order to reach the objective of harmonisation. For each sub-issue above, appropriate scientists, ISO-people, communicators, users etc. will be invited to collaborate as Core Members.
